The Network’s Objectives

The Paediatric Network of Geneva (RPG) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to guaranteeing the continuous high quality of paediatric care whilst engaging in the management and control of health care costs.

Together,
we will try and demonstrate that limiting the costs of health care while guaranteeing its quality is possible.

Our objectives are

  • To guarantee age-appropriate quality care of the children and adolescents (aged 0 to 18) in the Canton of Geneva, by Swiss-trained (or recognised equivalent) specialists
  • To maintain an on-call appointments system providing evening, week-end and public holidays appointments if your child's state of health requires one
  • To be involved in the regulation of health care costs, particularly through the integrated care model
  • To promote the health and development of children and adolescents

Integrated Care

Your paediatrician
Your paediatrician remains your chosen partner in making decisions to do with your child's health as, together, you develop your child's health and wellness strategies.

If proved necessary, you can change the referring paediatrician by notifying your health insurance and the person concerned, and forwarding the file to the new RPG referent.

Consultations
Consultations are organized, as usual, at your paediatrician’s surgery by appointment.
If you need a same day appointment, contact your paediatrician first to check the availability.
If it is not possible to arrange a consultation with your paediatrician on weekends, evenings and holidays,

CALL 0844 022 022

to make an appointment or book one online using our online booking facility.
In case of emergency, go straight to the Paediatric Reception and Emergency Service of the Children's Hospital or the Clinique des Grangettes without making an appointment.

Specialist consultations
If necessary, your paediatrician will refer your child to a specialist (ophthalmologist, allergologist, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist, etc.)

It is essential to follow this route. Your paediatrician will need to create a referral voucher in order for you to be reimbursed by your health insurance.

Vaccines, laboratory tests
Thanks to our negotiations with a number of pharmaceutical companies, the price of certain vaccines (administered according to the needs of each patient) and some laboratory examinations will be specially reduced.

On your invoice, the wording: "Network price" (prix réseau) will indicate charges for such vaccines, and also for certain tests done directly at your paediatrician’s surgery.
Where external laboratory tests are required, we will work with Dianalabs Laboratory to enable you to benefit from the same 10% discount on these tests.

The relationship between your paediatrician and your insurance
If your paediatrician doubts the merit of certain consultations, he or she has the duty to validate their justification in the circumstances with your health insurance company, whilst preserving medical privacy.

This prevents the abuse of consultations that would otherwise undermine the philosophy both you and the RPG profess when we create an integrated care network.
In collaboration with the independent pharmacists of Geneva and PharmaSuisse, the paediatricians of the RPG are committed to joint professional development in order to combine best medical practice with quality of care and with economy. And, together with the families, we will make sure we avoid overconsumption of refundable medicines.

Public health and parenting programmes, as well as the improvement of care in the surgery are the RPG’s constant concern and the subject of our annual systematic planning.
